CAPED started it’s journey on climate action in 2009 and it was self funded except for donations from friends and family members. The project started in a small scale planting indigenous and highly endangered tree species in community forest parks and planting mangroves along degraded wetlands across the West Coast Region area.
Mangrove Restoration
CAPED got it's first grant in 2012 from HEENO INTERNATIONAL through Dr Karamo Sonko the founder and Chairman. The grant from HEENO saw the planting of 40,000 mangrove propagules becoming CAPED's first large scale project.
